We loved having family around for Taylor's special day. Thank you to those that came and supported him.
Taylor received a beautiful blessing given by his Dad, and he slept through the whole thing until the end when he got the hiccups. It was cute. Our sweet baby is so good natured and was quiet all during church, getting passed around from family member to family member.
I played a duet with a violinist for Sacrament Meeting and it went well. After church, we came back to our home and had a nice lunch that included Pesto Enchiladas, chicken salad, rolls, pita chips and spinach dip, and orange torte for dessert.
We are pretty exhausted from our busy day. I'm always amazed, it doesn't seem to matter how early we wake up for church, we can never seem to be on time and are rushing around. I suppose it's because with two little kids you never know what will come up right when you are trying to get out the door. Luckily we made it to church right at 8:59 a.m. I never got a chance to feed Taylor before his blessing, but luckily he was a good sport and slept through it regardless.
Preston hasn't been liking nursery lately. Maybe someone can tell me if this is a normal thing they go through when there is a new sibling in the house? For the past 3 Sundays, when we take him to nursery he throws himself onto the ground and starts crying. It takes a LOT to get him to go and he cries and cries and cries. A few of the other moms have told me that it's normal because of the new baby, but I guess I just don't understand why. Why would Preston not want to go to nursery just because he has a new baby brother? I sat in a chair in the hallway outside the nursery room with Preston on my lap yesterday and asked him if he wanted to come to class with Mama and Taylor and he said "No". So I don't know if Taylor has anything to do with it.
Hopefully he'll get over it soon, because normally he LOVES nursery!

I am sure glad that you were so quick getting out your blog out about Taylor's blessing. I just got a call from Mom and she is now back in Salt Lake. She did not get on her flight last night. Luke rebooked her and she went out early this morning to San Franciso and Salt Lake. She will get home tonight!
Thanks for letting us be part of Taylor's blessing! It was an honor to be there. The lunch was great also! I love you for letting us be part of such a great Day!
I love how you explained the day through Preston's eyes! It looked/sounds as though the blessing went beautifully!
The only thing that I can think of that makes sense about the nursery is that because you take Taylor with you, that it makes Preston feel a little left behind; Or it could also just be a stage that he is going through, either way it will pass soon, hang in there! :)
I love your posts Jenni, I'm so glad you're all doing so well. You're so beautiful. :) Love you, V
I loved all the pictures. It looks like it was a very nice day. It doesn't matter when we get up and what time church is Sunday mornings are hard and exhausting. Even when i am prepared. With my kids and from working in the primary and nursery for years and years and years, this is very common after a new sibling. It isn't that he necessarily wants to be with you it is more that his life has changed and he doesn't understand his frustration and can't express himself so he tries to control the things he can. That is how I understand it anyway. The thing I have seen that helps the most is consistency and patience. If they know they are going every week even if they through a fit or make a scene they get there faster. It seems to go faster if the parents drop them off and leave quickly but everyone's kids are different as are parenting styles. Well, now I am rambling. I know you find something that works for you. I am curious as to what you finds works. Let me know.
Love the stroller full of cars - of course that's what they're for! ha ha I love Taylor's blessing outfit too - he is so sweet.
