Destructive Toddlerism

Do you see this living room?

This is what a 2 year old can do to a room within 20 minutes.

Earlier today, I had it all cleaned up and vacuumed.

*sigh*

Sometimes I wonder why I even try to clean?

I'm going to let Papa clean this one up. Notice how most of the objects on the floor are Dad's toys anyway. :) Kayak paddle, running shoes, raquetball raquet, bike gloves...

My boys do the exact same thing. Sometimes they don't even wait 20 minutes to make another mess. They go along right behind me and undo everything right as I'm putting it away. Love that. :)

Toys, Preston's or Will's are easy to pick up. Notice that your floor is spotless: no breakfast cereal, crackers or grimy footprints on the carpet? The fish are in the fish tank, the flowers are in the vase (and beautiful), the diaper isn't messy, and the vacuum is put away! Most of all, Preston is happy! Give yourself where credit is due. A few toys sprinkled around on a clean floor is not a bad thing. Now if you wanna see a mess, come to my house where I have no excuse!!! I'm not pregnant, my baby is almost 19, I don't have the grandkids everyday anymore, and nothing (well except the raspberry bed) is doing well in my garden so I can't even use "too much gardening" as an excuse. Just relax. You have a few more years to enjoy baby stuff at your house and it really is gone sooner than you can believe! xoxo

I'm surprised the flowers are staying on that table so nicely. Wow... now THAT is an accomplishment with a toddler!
