Memorial Day Weekend

Will and I drove back up to Camano Island from Portland for Memorial Day Weekend, as my brother Mike and his family were visiting from Utah. This was a rare treat so it was a lot of fun!

We went to Bowman Bay and had a picnic and put the kayaks in - even if Will and I were the only ones that ended up using them. We ended up paddling across to a secluded island that was pretty far! It took us a couple of hours to get there and back, and my family was worried about us by the time we finally returned.

Here are some fun pictures from the weekend:

I love the expression on the kids' faces in this picture.

Will and I: Check out those expressions! Ha!

And now to show how goofy we really are...

Bagby Hot Springs

We had fun hiking up to the Bagby HotSprings this past weekend. The hike was beautiful, but once we reached the hotsprings....they didn't really look too inviting. They had these big tubs full of water and you had to wait your turn for one, and in the mean time we could hear all these people inside and you just had to wonder exactly how clean was that water...

So we opted to not go into the springs. But the hike was great. :)

First Date without Having to Drive 200 Miles

As I just barely arrived in Portland with my uHaul full of personal items and have temporarily been living with Daniel and Dalynn (Will's brother and wife), I was excited to take a break unpacking and go on our "first" date while living in the same city together.

It was really exciting that Will was able to come and pick me up after only driving a few miles. It sure makes you not take things like close proximaty for granted.

We went to our singles ward's "Oscar Night" where they judged all the short films that the various FHE groups had made. We were supposed to show up looking like celebrities. So we went to a Goodwill store and bought some pretty flashy stuff - haha. We were trying to go for Jessica Simpson and Nick Lachey, but...as you can see we are a far cry from any resemblence. But we had so much fun!

Jenni's Move to Portland

After months and months and MONTHS of what seemed like endless roadtrips back and forth between Seattle and Portland to see each other, sometimes at crazy hours of the night just to see each other for a few minutes - I finally made the decision to move to Portland to be closer to Will. Well, and he asked me to move. :)

Obviously this decision would not have been made unless there was some sort of promising aspect to our relationship. We have, on many occassions, discussed our relationship and where it is going. We have talked about marriage quite a bit and want to try this relationship at a local distance level.

And we both agreed that since Will is still in school at Portland State University, it would be best for me to be the one to make the move.

This decision also came after I had been searching in the Seattle area for months for a second part time job. My job search continuously came to deadends. But my first interview for a job in Portland ended up them offering me the position. If that isn't a big hint from Heavenly Father that I needed to move to Portland, then I don't know what is.

The move will be happening the weekend of May 15th, and my first day of work will be May 17th. I will be a receptionist/administrative assistant at Flightcraft at the airport - which is the smaller private airport where the private jets land.
