Bye Bye Buchan!

Well, it's official. Friday was my last day at John F. Buchan Homes. With the financial/real estate mess that the country is in, it finally caught up to me. I'm suprised I made it so long. When I came on board with Buchan 3-1/2 years ago right out of my graduate program in Real Estate Development, we were building close to 200 homes a year with an employee base of about the same. Next year they are hoping to build 20 homes, if they can find a bank to loan them money and they have about 100 homes waiting to be sold. This leaves one employee in the estimating/purchasing department until things rebound.

I loved working here. It was a great family owned company, that built very nice homes. I had an excellent boss and co-workers (just co-worker towards the end. LOL). So if you know any millionaires out there that are looking for a nice million dollar home on the Seattle Eastside, we could use about 100 of them. Just send them here.

In the mean time if you know of any great Finance/Real Estate Jobs you can send those to me. LOL
I guess this way, I can finally finish typing up that blog about my last race that I have been trying to type for the past two months. LOL So stay tuned...

I think we should all move to Georgia - it is beautiful there. If Will and Jenni decide to go, we want to come too.

Hey...if everyone is going to Georgia, we want to come too. Will, I'm so very proud of you. Not much comfort but, the duration of your time there is a testament to you amazing abilities. You'll make someone else a lot of money somewhere else. That is, unless you are planning on flying solo with your own biz... Give me a call. I've seen a couple estimator jobs you might be interested in.

Oh Will, I'm so sorry. I know that you loved that position. I know you'll do great in the job hunt.

I think I know a little something about how you and Jenni work. And I have a pretty good idea about how the Lord works.

I'm convinced that whatever happens next, this change will ultimately be a huge blessing for your family.

Our prayers are with you.

Georgia sounds nice, if James doesn't get into grad school this next coming year maybe we'll move to Georgia too.
I know this guy, names President Wheelright, he's the President here at BYU-H. He wants to build some new housing for the campus. They won't be million dollar homes but if your interested, I can ask him if he is hiring an estimator for the upcoming project. Do you think you can estimate the cost of a track field too? He wants to build a track field as well.

Well Will, I was wondering about the end of your racing blog, but I could have waited a bit longer.
I'm sorry for you both, but like so many others have said, "The Lord will provide" We'll keep you in our prayers and we know He answers prayers. But, about this Georgia thing... count us in.

This maybe wrong and assumptive to share on a blog. But when I read this blog I thought - I am sure they have a half million dollars stashed away somewhere. They will probably enjoy two years at home together or something fun like that...

Not to say that is reality (and we will still pray for you guys) but it goes to show how much faith and respect I have for the way you both handle finances. You have been such a good example to Mark and I.

Thanks for all the love & support everyone. Elizabeth, I think Jenni would suggest Hawaii over Georgia. LOL But if everyone is heading to the South, let's just make sure Luke & Jen stay there. We'll keep you posted.
