While we headed to Portland to celebrate our 5th wedding anniversary.
Now we didn't go to Washington Park on our wedding day, however, we did eat chicken salad sandwiches. They were served at our reception, and my mother was kind enough to make us a picnic basket of reception food to take with us to our hotel later on.
So we had a picnic at beautiful Washington Park and dined on chicken salad sandwiches.
A squirrel dined with us as well.
Later, a sad thing happened. My fingers were becoming swollen enough from pregnancy that I had to officially take the wedding ring off. I was hoping to make it through the weekend with my beautiful ring that I was married with, but alas, I was afraid I would never be able to get it off.
Next we went to the beautiful Portland Oregon LDS Temple.
It was absolutely perfect how the flowers were all the same as on our wedding day. The trees were blooming at the same stage. And the weather was even similar. It really did feel like our wedding day.
Here we are standing next to the tree where Will proposed to me. The "Proposal Tree".
We did go inside the temple and visit one of our favorite rooms - the Celestial Room. We sat there on the same couch where we sat on the morning of our wedding, as we waited to go into the sealing room for the wedding ceremony. We reminisced how Will tripped on my wedding dress and we almost came fumbling into the room together in front of everyone.
Ah, those were special times.
After the temple, we went out for dinner.
No we did not go to Moracco for our honeymoon or on our wedding day.
But ever since seeing the movie "Sabrina" (with Julia Ormond and Harrison Ford) where they eat a romantic dinner at a Moraccan Restaurant while sitting on the floor and eating with their hands, I've always wanted to do that!
And that's exactly what we did. Completely with sitting on the floor and eating our entire meal with our hands. With a bellydancer. She was fun.
Here was my dinner date.
Here was his dinner date.
And here was our 5 course EXTREMELY yummy meal. Seriously, go to this restaurant if you are in Portland. Or Seattle (because they have one in Seattle as well).
After our seriously so good dinner, we went to the Cheesecake Factory (my fav!) and got 2 slices of to-die-for cheesecakes and took them back to our hotel room at The Paramount Hotel.
That's all I'm going to write about the hotel.
The next morning we got to sleep in, although I still woke up around the same time that Preston usually wakes up. I had the rest of my Godiva Chocolate Cheesecake for breakfast.
We eventually mosied on back up to Seattle, where we found our little one asleep for an afternoon nap at Uncle James and Aunt Elizbabeth's. I wanted to wake him up and give him a squeeze, but we all know to never wake a sleeping baby (lest you wake a cranky squwaker).
It was a really great getaway and so nice to be able to spend 2 days alone together. We sure are so lucky in love and are blessed to have a beautiful little family as well. All the other stuff in life seem superflous compared to that.
Not The End.

I'm so glad your weekend was wonderful. We had so much fun with Preston. Good times.
Awe, looks like you guys had a wonderful time! Thanks for sharing about your weekend. :)
You look as beautiful, if not more beautiful than you did the day you got married. Seriously. The up close shots of your face... I'm so jealous. I look like an old woman and you could still pass for a college gal!
Soo fun!! I'm jealous of your trip. You guys really know how to spend an anniversary.
You two really do make a beautiful couple.
Happy Belated Anniversary! And it looks like you guys had a blast... especially the cool eating digs. So happy for you both. :)
