We're having a...

(Preston and Daddy in the ultrasound room)

It's official.

We are just really good at making boys.

Actually, Will is really good at making boys because if I remember biology right, it's the father's sperm that determines the baby's sex. Not the mother.

I keep thinking that if I were a queen in the olden times of royalty when property and lineage was passed from father to son, I would be such a popular wife! I would be celebrated and praised, and of course my husband would have no clue that it was actually his doing. Not mine. ;)

And so it is...we are expecting our 2nd boy this coming August. Yes I was hoping for a girl, but that does not mean I am not excited about this little sweet boy! Preston has been such a cutie that to think we'll have another one of him makes me really excited. And it only means that in a couple of years from now, we'll have to try one more time for a girl. And then either way, I'm done. :)

Here is our little sweet baby boy....of whom we have absolutely no clue what to name at this point. That in itself will be a task. We are horrible at boy names.

Our technician said that there was absolutely no doubting it that this baby is a boy. 100%. She actually guessed it at my 12 week ultrasound, and she was right.

I'm actually excited that we won't be needing to buy too many things, since we already have lots of boy stuff. Just things like a carseat, double stroller, a few outfits, and things like that. So that is a relief.

Any good name ideas? Bring them on!

Congratulations! That is so exciting! We're all about having the same gender in our family. ;)

Two in a row of the same is great! I love it that my two girls are so close. My favorite is when my oldest see's pictures of herself when she was a baby and comments on how she's wearing, using, ect all of her sisters things. She doesn't realize they were hers first!

Congrats! It's a time for boys right now, there are SO many people I know who are having them - including me of course!

You are good, even though I've had a boy already - I know I'll be buying way too much new stuff. And making new bedding, and just going way overboard. Not that we can afford to do that, it's just that hand-me-downs aren't nearly as much fun!

luvs, aby

Congrats!!! I love the names Henry, Harrison, Winston, & Quinton--just to name a few. Boys names are hard--its not like they will change their last names when they get married. Goodluck!

Congratulations! Preston is going to have such fun with his little brother.

Some research (I think I read about it at a cloth diapering site) showed that it might be the mom who determines set afterall . . . as the x and y sperm have different charges (one positive, one negative), and the ovum switches back and forth between.

There's even a service (about $400) where you give this company a ton of info about cycles, age, etc., and they give you a detailed schedule for when your ovum are likely to be positive or negative.

Interesting, no?

Maybe once a year we can swap kids for a week so I can go hunting with them and you can practice up on coloring ponies and butterflies.

Just realized I never commented on this even though I basically hit my refresh button the entire day on Friday. So glad Preston will have a little buddy to play with. It'll be fun!

I just got really excited seeing this ultrasound. He has a special spirit about him, I can just tell. It's a bit soon to be pointing out which parent features he resembles but I can't help but think his lips look like Will's.
