Our Anti-Nursery

Well friends, here you go. This is the state of our soon-to-be-born son's nursery. LOL

We just figure that we'll put the little tyke in a dresser drawer to sleep and throw all of his clothes on the floor in the corner - as pictured.

I'm kidding of course.

We actually have the crib bedding, just waiting on the crib from some friends. We are going to move my old dresser into the nursery and use it for Preston (and get a new dresser for both Will and I to share since right now we have seperate dressers).

But yeah...I'm a bit anxious. Stressed. Feeling like a bad mother-to-be. Afraid I'll go into labor and have to come home from the hospital to a room that still looks like it does now. Haha.

3 more weeks and the baby will be considered "full term" and he can come early at that point if he wishes. But technically we have about 5 and 1/2 weeks until the actual due date. 5 and 1/2 more weeks of childless marriage life, and then...we'll be parents FOREVER.

We're glad we had 5 years to ourselves (including dating and marriage), but are excited for this new phase and adventure!

Wow I didn't realize you had been together for that long already. It's been just over 4 years for us.

Once you have kids, and then look back when they have grown, you wonder how in the world you could have enjoyed life without them! Things will never be the same! Even though we are empty nesters now, we still have association with all of you kids, and I wouldn't trade that for anything .

Five years seems like a long time since Andy and I only had a year and five months until we were parents. I wish it would have been longer until we had kids but I would not change it for anything. I look forward to seeing them grow up and hear them laugh and get to see what kind of person they will become.

Once that nesting thingy happens you won't have to worry about the way things will look. It will just be cleaning and cleaning. Getting everything ready for that child. For Bethany it was canning. I have never seen a prego lady can like that.

I keep telling Kristi that as soon as we get pregnant she has to come organize my house and get it all ready for the baby. I'm terrible at organizing and I stress over it way to easily.

I can't wait, Preston will be here so soon.

I love how your nursery looks! :) In the last few weeks before giving birth is when ALL the household projects get done for me. I painted 3 rooms and scoured everything from top to bottom, moved my 2 kids in a room together, made a playroom and a nursery. Then the night I went into labor I went into another cleaning frenzy. That is the worst my nesting urge has been-but we got it all done, which was a good thing becasue I seriously did no deep cleaning for 6 months! LOL

Somehow all these odd bits will pull all together and you will find everything just right for the arrival of this new life. He won't come until you are really ready. So enjoy! :) Love ya-N

That room will make a cute nursery. Don't stress if you don't get it all done in time. Things always work out!

Don't worry about not having the room ready. Our Preston didn't have his ready 'till he was about 4 months old. Good luck with getting it together!! It's so fun!

I have a long low dresser I'd love to sell! Call me if you'd like to see a picture. kp
