Follow Will on his hike of the PCT Trail

Hey there bloggers! This is Will. I'm off on my next big adventure in 5-6 hours. I'm solo hiking the Pacific Crest Trail 75 miles from Steven's pass to Snoqualmie pass. I hope to be hiking by 6am Friday morning and plan to be done anytime between noon and 9pm on Saturday. This will be a non stop hike as I won't be stopping and pitching a tent on Friday night, instead I'll be hiking through the night.

This is a beautiful trail that I have wanted to do for quite awhile. I'll be climbing over 13,000 combined feet and dropping the same. The trail goes over about 10 ridges and passes and I'll hike by about 20 alpine lakes. I have 6 pounds of food as I'll be a hungry guy. I'm also lugging about 6lbs of gatorade and plan on replenishing that 3-4 times. Other then that I have about 8 pounds of gear to keep me safe, warm, & entertained along the trail, making for a 20lb pack. I plan to take pictures and video, so come back in a few day for those.

In the meantime, if you are stuck at your computer all day during the next 36 hours, I invite you to come follow me along my route. I'm carrying a spot gps device that will track me as I hike along the trail. Click on this link and it will take you to a google map that will pin point my last known location. It updates in real-time every 10-15 minutes as long as I get a signal. That may be the tricky part, so it may lose me for a couple hours at a time when I'm buried under the forest canopy. Once you get to the google map I recommened clicking the terrain tab in the upper corner so you can see the layout of the mountains I'm climbing up or down. You can zoom in and click on the pin points to show you the time that I was at that position. Enjoy: http://share.findmespot.com/shared/faces/viewspots.jsp?glId=0uaGmFp5JSxrAptaepEJGAP3HF0b6efWm

P.S. Jenni here, Will didn't mention that if you click on that link it currently shows all of the places he's taken his GPS thingie in the last week. However his STARTING off point is up by Highway 2 by Steven's Pass. :)
